What a great start to our two week program. Thank you for making it such a wonderful experience for the children. We had goosebumps when the bus pulled into the station and you were all standing there holding the banner smiling and waving. Clearly the children felt welcomed to Amherst. We were so proud when we saw our current and former middle school students working hard to make the students feel comfortable and welcomed. Students went from apprehensive to relaxed and soon were playing basketball, volleyball and conversing with their new friends.
Vicky and Art Leknes were amazing hosts and we appreciated them allowing us to hold the event at their home. It was the perfect location for an event like this.
We have several hundred pictures we will share when we get an opportunity to upload them! Enjoy the rest of the weekend with your students and we will see you on Monday in room 203 at the middle school.
