Traditional New England music and dancing tonight.

We plan to take our students to the Nelson Monday night contra dance tonight. There have been similar dances and music in the Nelson town halll for about 200 years. There will be at least 50 local kids there from local schools in Keene, Peterborough, Wilton, and elsewhere in the region. (Attendance increases a lot in during school vacations). It's easy and kids and adults there will be happy to teach newcomers. Lots of teen musicians, usually, too.

The above youtube video is from the winter time with many fewer people than will be there tonight. In the summer we can expect visitors from around the world and around the US. I was calling a dance there one August night a few years ago and asked where people were from. The hall was packed, and there were visitors from 18 different US states and 19 different countries there. I expect to call a dance or 2 tonight, as well.

$3 donation in fiddlecase at the door, if you've got it.
