On July 5, 2012 through July 17, 2012 the Amherst Middle School in Amherst, New Hampshire will host 30 students and three teachers from Chongqing, China, a city of 28.8 Million people, located along the Yangtze river in Southwestern China. This blog will document the experiences of both our host families and the Chinese students as we work to develop a deeper understanding of each other's countries and cultures.
The last group of students came from Chongqing China in the Sichuan province. We are told that the Stillwell foundation has not told them the exact locations of all of the students. It is safe to say that the students we are getting are from Chongqing or Kunming. Both are located in southwestern China and they are large cities.
