We are very excited as we await our kids this week!
It is hard to believe close to a year has passed by since the last group was here. A few things we are off to do and welcome others to join:
Either Sat or Sun July 7/8 we are heading north to the Flume and tram at Cannon Mt. Then a stop to swim in chilly Echo Lake.
Monday July 9th we will be heading to Nelson NH for a ContraDance. We will leave around 7PM and be home kind of late.
Wednesday July 11th - Lizzi wants to head to Hampton Beach for fireworks. Not sure yet about this.
And, we will fit in kayaking on Baboosic Lake, Candlepin/Glow bowling, and a few other adventures. Probably a weekend day trip to Hampton Beach for some boogie boarding. That was a bit hit last summer.
We will have our girls join Lizzi at the Kim Cates 5K walk/run at Hampshire Hills on Thur the 12th: http://kimcatesfund.org/2012run.htm
What sorts of things are others planning?
Eastern Mountain Sports has a kayak, bike, paddle board demo for free this weekend from 10-8 on Saturday and 8-4 on Sunday at Pawtuckaway State park. I am pretty sure we will be there for this too!
ReplyDeleteFri after "school" heading up the coast of Maine to show the kids the ocean and enjoy the sites. Sat hoping to shoot over to N. Conway. Sunday coming home via Rte 1 along the coast to admire the pure beauty. Heading to 2 family gatherings; both sides of the family decided Sunday would be a good day to celebrate family in from out of state and a high school graduation, go figure (lol).
ReplyDeleteI would like to extend an invitation to anyone after a hot day @ school to come enjoy the pool.
See you all Thursday : )
Wow! What wonderful ideas everyone has! As this is our first time hosting, any ideas are helpful. We do have a Birthday party/bbq to attend this Saturday. Our kids would like to take them to Canobie Lake. We will definitely hit the beach! Any other ideas for first timers??
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Kim Horrell
We are heading to Hampton Beach this Sunday. Next weekend we plan a trip to Water Country in Portsmouth NH.
ReplyDeleteI think we'll be making plans to bring the boys to Mel's in Litchfield for Go cart,s, etc. on Sunday afternoon. Next weekend is camping!
ReplyDeleteSaturday is supposed to be in the 90's, so we are going to stay by the pool. If anyone is stuck for something to do feel free to come on over. We are planning on Kayaking at some point, Mel's in Litchfield has something for everyone. We thought the kids may think the drive in movies were fun. They are coming from DC and will go to LA after us. Last year they spent a day at Disney after we took them to Canobie, so another type of park may be better.
ReplyDeleteA lot depends on the interests of the kids you have. We will know better after we meet them.
